As a photographer, music festivals are the hardest work but also the most fun. You get to do what you love – A LOT, shooting loads of bands, being up close to the musicians you love and respect, and generally getting amongst it. What most people don’t see though is the long days in the weather (be it sun or rain), running from stage to stage, trying to find time to eat, the pressure of getting the shots you want and then backing it up the next day with usually a full 6-8 hours of editing photos. I wouldn’t change it for the world!

One of my favourite festivals to shoot has been Soundwave Festival. The bands are so visually interesting, metal bands love to play it up for the cameras, and the punters are the best. So as this years Soundwave Festival came to and end I was sad to hear that Adelaide wouldn’t see it return next year.

It’s been a bad few years for not only Festivals but also Adelaide, having lost the Big Day Out and now Soundwave festival also – my two favourites, gone. So I thought that I would put together some of my favourite shots from Soundwave Festival and still hope to bring you more shots (albeit from interstate) in 2016.
