Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds @ Adelaide Entertainment Centre Theatre, 2016

In the country to perform at the Byron Bay Bluesfest, Noel Gallagher also brought his High Flying Birds to Adelaide.
These shots are from their show at Adelaide’s Entertainment Centre Theatre.

About the shoot: I was glad when I found out that there was no support act for this gig, for purely selfish reasons. I had two shoots on this night, Noel Gallagher at the Entertainment Centre and also Stiff Little Fingers across the road at The Gov. The early start time of this gig meant that I had no concerns that I would be able to make my second gig! As with most gigs at this venue, I was given a time to meet at the box office and was escorted in to the venue minutes before the start time. There wasn’t a huge amount of action on stage so it was all about catching special moment, and framing your shots. We weren’t allowed to shoot from directly in front of Gallagher, but then most photographer would know that is a terrible angle anyway as you have a microphone covering half of the artists face, so this wasn’t too much of an issue. Gallagher was kind and gave me quite a few glances, so despite shooting from the sides I was able to get some face on shots. The third song ended, and myself along with the other photographers were escorted back out of the pit and out of the venue and I was on my way across Port Road and straight in to The Gov.
